The Jade is a succulent but definitely does not act like one. The jade develops a trunk just like a normal tree- Gnarled and thick but in an even shorter period of time. The Jade, is very common in Bonsai since it can be turned into any style that exists due to its amazing flexibility. The Jade can also be propagated extremely easily and only takes 1-2 weeks to root. Since the Jade is a succulent, it prefers its roots dry. Overwatering will cause the leaves to grow large and droopy which is not suitable for Bonsai.
